Suppose I have virtual roles say Manager and Supervisor. The following person say James performs the virtual role Manager( Manager is also defined as person). James is authorized to work on Manager items ( defined in Buildtime). It has to be transfered to James to start working. When I query the workitem using workitem[].ownerOf(), it returns the owner name as Manager. How do u know what all workitems James is authorized to work on. How do I transfer the workitem using the transfer() function in order to make James as the owner of the workitem using the Java api. Hope I am clear. Any help would be appreciated. Sample code to attain this functionality will be great..

I got it now. James can see them as long as he is authorized to work on Managers item. I guess all I have to do is to use the transfer() function to transfer the workitems to him. James can see the Managers new items, but the virtual role does not own the item any more after it has been transferred to James. Any other Suggestions.
