The latest version of CVSNT (2.0.31) was created last Sunday and is five versions removed from the deemed "stable" version (2.0.26) created two weeks ago. This rate of change is likely to make senior management even more jittery.......! |
Eclipse 2.0 (which is what WBIMB 5.0 is based on) did not officially support previous versions of cvsnt, as per this url http://dev.eclipse.org/viewcvs/index.cgi/%7Echeckout%7E/platform-vcm-home/docs/online/cvs_features2.0/cvs-faq.html#server_cvsnt.
However, that was with an older version of cvsnt, and the feature set might now be sufficient enough.
I would recommend cvs on a unix/linux box instead just because of this, unless someone else has had good experiences with the using CVSNT 2.0 and Eclipse 2.0? |

Hi,
As all of you are discussing of migration from older MQSI versions to WBIMB..,my company is planning to start new development on WBIMB v5. . With a scarce suppport for WBIMB here in India, we are keeping our fingers crossed!!! and I expect lots of inputs from this forum..!!
Have anybody of you worked on such projects started from scratch on WBIMB v5?? Do you have any thoughts on how hard it will be applying latest CSDs (current is CSD02) to WMIMB?
Have anybody already installed WBIMB on Win2003?? _________________ Vivek

Except for half of the official IBM labs for WBIMB ...
And if you really need lots of support, I'm sure that there are at least five serious experts here who would be glad to provide onsite consulting. _________________ I am *not* the model of the modern major general. |

As an update to my previous question:
Quote: |
I understand that Merant Version Manager 8 supports WSAD 5.0 and Eclipse 2.0 - has anyone anyone out there proven that it can be integrated with WBIMB V5 ?
|
I haven't checked for V8, but I did successfully install the Eclipse plugin for Merant Version Manager 7.5.1.5 on our WBIMB ConfigMgr server.
I was then able to use the PVCS integrated interface (from within WBIMB 5.0) to checkin/checkout components (using a PVCS database on a separate Windows server).
Regards,
Nick. |

As an update to this. We are progressing the v5 (CSD03) upgrade currently. It's going fairly well considering how complex our flows are and that we jumped over version 2.1. |
