Hi MQExperts,
Here is my scenerio.
I have 5 qmgrs in my cluster. I name them for instance, a,b,c,d, and e
e qmgr is my gateway qmgr
Application would connect to either a or b qmgrs than put request message to reach to e qmgr via c or d qmgrs.
e qmgr is in firewall. in otherwards, only c or d qmgrs can talk to gateway e qmgr.
From e qmgr, our ipt will route request message to third party and they will send a reply message back to e qmgr.
now, reply message has to land on either c or d qmgrs than to a or b qmgrs.
Can you guys put some light on it and help me out here, should I have alias queue on c & d qmgrs to reach my request to gateway qmgr e?
Once I receive reply from external client on e qmgr, should I have again alias queues on c & d qmgrs to route it to a or b qmgrs?
Thanks a lot for your help |

How did you come up with such a complicated solution?
Did you think it up yourself or did you inherit this solution?
Can you give some more background info?

I did not think it up myself, it is our current mq setup, and firewall restrictions.
we are using mq5.2 and CSD4. I don't know how to attach a file here on this site otherwise I could have attached a diagram that will probably help understanding correct scenario. |

If A B C D and E are in a cluster, then the message will go dirrectly from A or B to E, they will not go thru C or D. The cluster will create automatic CLUSNDR channels from A or B directly to E.

Then the request message should specify either C or D in the ReplytoQueueManager field.

I thought you just said you wanted them on C or D. If you want them to eventually end up on A or B, why make them go thru C or D??? _________________ Peter Potkay

Put the diagram on a website somewhere there are enough free hosting sites out there and use the img button when posting a reply.
Without a picture we can discuss this for months...
