Hello,
An outside entity is sending us a message (so I don't know what code or platform he is using), and when the msg arrives it has a hexidecimal '00' between every character. Like this:
MQ Explorer data display:
55 00 20 00 42 00 49 00 U. .B.I.
4F 00 4D 00 30 00 36 00 O.M.0.6.
34 00 30 00 30 00 30 00 4.0.0.0.
30 00 30 00 31 00 20 00 0.0.1. .
when it should look like this:
55 20 42 49 4F 4D 30 36 U BIOM06
34 30 30 30 30 30 31 20 4000001
I'm not sure this guy is going to be able to figure out what's wrong, so
I was just wondering if anyone knew the obvious anwer to this?
Why do the hex '00' show up in the message?
I saw a previous post mentioning hex under a different scenario, but it had something to do with PutMQ vs. PutMQAny, but that seemed to cause the whole message to be hex, rather than every other char.
Any ideas without seeing the othey guy's code?
Thanks,
Margaret |

I bet he's sending Unicode. _________________ I am *not* the model of the modern major general. |

Thanks for that! The guy I'm working with is on the other side of the planet so I won't know until at least tomorrow, but I'll let you know if that's the issue. Thanks again!

Just a follow-up to the hexidecimal issue. You were absolutely correct about it being a Unicode issue. Thank you so much!
