When creating a JMS queue object, there is a property called QMANAGER, which the manual states is "The name of the queue manager to connect to."

I don't understand that. If you use the QCF to connect to the queue manager (which has all the connection info), why would you also want to specify that queue manager name again in the QUEUE object? What purpose does it serve? The only valid value I can think it could have would be the name of the QM you connected to via the QCF, so what's the point of specifying it again?

I think this property comes into play with remote messaging. It allows you to get the RQMNAME filled in the MQMD. Just a guess....

That's what I thought, that it really maps to the ObjectQueueManager field in the MQOD. Which makes sense. If that is the case, then the description in the manual is just plain wrong, correct? It's not the QM you are connecting to, but rather the MQOD field.

(Normally I would just try something like this myself and get the answer, but I currently don't have a JMS app to fiddle with).

I tested it and this turned out to be right.
