I want to create QManagers and local queues and listeners programmatically and on the fly.
The environment concerned is exclusively W2K, XP & W2K3. The version of MQ is 5.1(CSD006).
This it seems to me should be easy but for the life of me I cannot find a way doing this prorammatically. The additional constraints are that I cannot use Java, I can if required recompile it to J# but best would be a C# solution. This could involve interfacing with ADSI but where is the documentation!
TIA |

You should not be using 5.1 for any new installations. It's out of support, and 5.2 is going out of support Real Soon Now (or Not Too Long Ago).
That said, you should be able to use any standard 'invoke a process' function to run crtmqm, even on 5.1.
And then you can create MQSC files that get piped into runmqsc to be executed to create any objects (queues, channels, etc) that you need.
From any language of your choice that allows you to read and write to files, and launch external programs.
I believe crtmqm is documented in the System Administration Guide (or possibly one of the "Installation" or "Quick Beginnings" guides).
MQSC commands are documented in the Script manual (for 5.3), and in the older System Administration guides, I believe. _________________ I am *not* the model of the modern major general. |

That will create them, but I dont think it adds them to the MQServices, especially the listener process _________________ Jeff

Erm. Good point.
Well, if he were using 5.3, he could use amqmdain. _________________ I am *not* the model of the modern major general. |
