hi,
i am developing an MQ Application in
Production:
Server : WMQ5.3 ClusterServer on AIX(WMQ 5.3 +CSD5.0 +WIBroker 2.1 +CSD 6.0)
Client1: Os/390 mainframe
Cleint2: Windows XP.
Right now i am developing in XP env and planing to Migrate to Production.
i gone through "Using Java" and the came to know there is no Java Doc avilable for MQ.
1)In case of AMI API
AMI v 1.23 - Since in case of MQseries v 5.2 its not supported on OS/390. and i have seen the
IBM website.
AMI Support Pac

2)Which API should i use.In case of JMS aslo i came to know there are some limitations
that u can write security exits.
3)MQ Base Java Classes . ?

First,
The java doc is available on the documentation CD (comes with the product).
Second if you're working in JMS environment just use JMS, and if it's not an JMS then just use plan JAVA.
About the exits, this it normally not for the application developers at all, this is for systemsprogrammers, because it have to deal with the architecture of the MQ env.
The final answer will be it's completely your choise, we can't choose for you. And it will all be: IT DEPENDS......

Which API to use? It DEPENDS.
AMI is not an API. You can't compare that with JAVA and JMS. In fact, you can write AMI in JAVA or C, which are the two supported language for AMI (If I remember correctly!). You cannot write in just AMI.
JMS stands for JAVA Messaging Service, so I take it, it is an evolution of JAVA. So which one is to choose? If you have read the Using JAVA manual, then youshould be able to pickup the statements in there on when and why to use which one. At least the manual make some suggestion. It still DEPENDS.
If you are worried about performance, then perhaps you might want to go through the supportpac site and search for performance reports, or look for JAVA/JMS reports.
If you are worried for end of life support, then opt for the industry accepted language (hey! JAVA and JMS are ).
If you are worried about support in multi platform, then try to look for the supported compilers in each platform, and see which language fits in the most.
After all, if there is one clear winner in them all, why are there so many of them still lying around? It DEPENDS.
Good luck in your choosing. |
