Direct access from within WMQI is better in some cases.
Access through a service is better in other cases.
IBM says that WMQI is a tool for routing and translation. It is not intended to be an application server. IBM believes that WMQI should not encapsulate "business" logic.
If you agree with this, then it is "better" to limit the direct access from within WMQI of databases to only those conditions where you require information kept in a database for routing and translation.
But you'll have to decide what is "better" for you based on your own business requirements, and environment, and policies. _________________ I am *not* the model of the modern major general.
