The link you have mentioned is using MQ. I was wondering how to use WMQI for request/reply. I am aware that it supports pub/sub functionality.

There's nothing really different about doing Request/Reply in WMQI versus in "plain" MQ.

Request messages are put onto queues, using an MQOutput node and retrieved using an MQInput node. Reply messages are generated, and then put back onto queues using MQOutput nodes, and read by MQInput nodes.

There is, as a convenience, an IBM node called "MQReply" that ships with the tooling. This is documented in the 'Help' available from within the 2.1 tooling.

There are also the Aggregate nodes, which can help you assemble a single response to mulitple request messages. These nodes are also documented in the Help. They are also somewhat better explained in a Redbook called "Developing Solutions with Websphere MQ Integrator".
