Hello,
I have a on HP-UX 11 a Queue Manager with MQSeries 5.2 with the last fixpack and sometimes (one time in the week) these Queue Manager buggs and at the time it buggs we have 800 Processus open.
So I am very surprised because we have declared a max of 360 channel available (so whe have 800 )
So my question is : how can it do so a lot of channels open and if anyone can help me to found a solution at this problem.
So when these Queue Manager buggs we must killed all the processus and remake the LOG Files.
So thanks a lot of your help.... |

When you say a lot of processes, you are talking about 'amqcrsta'? You can upgrade to WMQ 5.3 and use the listener pool. It will use threads instead of processes. However, something looks funny in your scenario if you have the MaxChannels set to 360. Have you run 'netstat -a' to see the state of the MQ sockets? It would be interesting to see the state that they are in. |

Hello,
Thanks for your response.
I will look with "netstat -a" at the next time I have a Problem with my Queue Manager (it may be perhaps next week). So I write you a mail with the results.
So we are also before the end of this year migrate to the MQSeries Version 5.3.01. So you say that this problem cannt be arrived with MQSeries 5.3 ?
Thanks a lot ... |

I wouldn't say that this problem couldn't happen in 5.3. However, with 5.3, the connections are pooled (ie, each connection ends up as a thread in a process). This reduces the number of processes. There are details at:
