How can I get some type of alert if a message sits on a queue and the application is not picking it up? Would having the MQ report function enabled give me this type of info that could be monitored by candle? |

I don't remember well (i had a trial in probe) if CCC Reports for MQ by Candle Corp. was able to obtain the Message Events about Perfm. Events messages (High Depth, Low Depth, etc) but it should can be a solution for this.

From any WMQ monitoring product, just inquire on the current depth of the queue is greater than an appropriate number and if ipprocs are greater than 0. If this true, then applications are getting messages of the queue, but the current depth, the number of messages are rising.
For my monitoring, I set it up as above and then add the condition that the current depth has to be true for the chosen number or greater for a period of 15 continuous minutes.
