I am getting the following error when trying to import a message set.

BIP8179W: Internal error while accessing message repository.
An internal inconsistency has been detected while accessing the message reposito
ry. The MRM return code -78 was detected.
This is an internal error. Turn on mqsiimpexpmsgset utility tracing to capture
details of the error, retry the operation and contact your IBM support center.

I have manually modified the msg set before import to change the padding value on a lot of fields (my message is so big I can't do it in the control center) so I assume I have added the attribute to the wrong type of field somewhere.

Does anyone know how to turn the trace on for mqsiimpexpmsgset as the error suggests?

Hi,

you said you manually edited the message. What kind of editor
did you use ? WMQI resources are all UTF-8 encoded. Unless
you are using an editor (e.g. a true XML editor) which understands
UTF-8 and re-writes the document in UTF-8 this could cause
problems like this.

Using a product called Ultra-edit.

Anyway, I started over with my changes and saved copies every 20-30 changes and tested the import. So far it's working fine and I've made all the original changes I made.
