Hi ,
I am supposed to migrate my workflow version from 3.3.0 to 3.4 on my aix 5.1 box.
But before that i am trying it on windows nt system (test).
I did the following -->Please verify what is wrong .
1) Upgraded my mq version with the CSD 7.0 .
2) backed up my FMCDB database
3) After stopping all the workflow services i ran the migration utility for 3.4 and the out put showed that migration was successful.
4) Then using add/remove programs , i uninstalled wf 3.3.0 and when it asked to delete the existing configuration , i did not delete and continued .
5)Now i installed WF 3.4 and ran the fmczutil and then
created an FMC config with runtime database selecting the migrated database FMCDB .and created the FMC config
*************************************************************
*************************************************************
Hope the steps are right ...
But now when i try to connect to fmcdb database , it says database not found in the path as it was earlier lying in the workflow 3.3.0 installatioin folder .
why is it ..Any changes to be done to connect to fmcdb and also did i miss anything as in aix it says we need to copy fmcrc backup and is their anything similar on windows also .
Am i doing the correct thing , after installation of 3.4 are we supposed to create a new configuration of FMC since it says not to delete the FMC configuration while uninstalling 3.3.0 .
If thats is so how can i make the OLD FMC configuration which i did not delete to get listed when i run fmczutil .??
please waiting for ur suggestion . |

Why are you doing this. You should stop after step3. That's when migration is done. After step3, you should start the server and you should be done. |

I see what you are trying to do. You are doing the migration on a Windows box and following the AIX steps. That's not how you do the migration on Windows. On windows you don't have to uninstall the old version, but on UNIX platforms you have to uninstall the previous version and install the new version.
Refer to chapter7 Migration, in the installation manual (if you haven't already done that). You can also do a search on migration in this forum. You will get some hints or gotchas. |
