I had to recover a queue manager with a backup copy of pageset 0. When the Queue manager started, there are several queues that show a qdepth but that qdepth is inaccurate. Issuing the CLEAR QLOCAL command only clears what is actually in the queue. Here is one:
CSQM201I QM1A CSQMDRTC DIS QSTATUS DETAILS
QSTATUS(QIDLT01)
TYPE(QUEUE)
CURDEPTH(19918)
UNCOM(NO)
QSGDISP(QMGR)
END QSTATUS DETAILS
CSQ9022I QM1A CSQMDRTC ' DIS QSTATUS' NORMAL COMPLETION
The actual CURDEPTH when I browse that queue is 137. |

Hello,
Have you tried unloading the messages to a flat file , to see what is left?
I remember, in our installation, there was an issue with a "ghost record" as well. It is a bug, and you can fix it by applying RSU1805( MQ V8.0 )
Is that a DLQ queue ? Have you tried to retry it ?
Have you tried unloading the queue, then deleting it ( with it's parameters safely stored for recreation of course ). That should get rid of the problem. If no customers are screaming that they are missing messages, probably they are safe to remove. If they are screaming, and you can see the messages in the QSTATUS display, they are non usable anyway. |
