MQ to IMS Bridge - Is there a way to get it to send rejected messages to someplace other than the dead letter queue, where a MQ Administrator who did nothing wrong and can’t do anything to make it better has to deal with it?
I’m thinking perhaps to a Backout Queue as specified by the Backout Queue Name parameter of the Input queue. This seems like a logical choice to me. The bridge is backing the message out because IMS or RACF said no can do for that message. Seems like a logical place to put that message would be a backout queue specific for that input queue.
Or perhaps a way t tell the bridge to bounce back the rejected request message to the MQMD Reply To Q / Reply To Queue Manager of the incoming message, setting the MQMD Message Type, Format and/or Feedback to something the requesting app could code for to know this is not a good reply, but a response from the Bridge saying something went sideways. _________________ Peter Potkay
