Hello all,
I am planning to upgrade older MQ versions(v6.0, v7.0) to latest MQ(v8.0, v9.0) on my critical systems(P2P no cluster, Volume of message is huge) which involves AIX, SOLARIS and few WINDOWS.
Apart from application connectivity and end to end test, please let me know what other tests can be performed to check the perfomance latest version of the product in depth.
Ex, OS performance, Network latency.

Just end to end test would work but would like to know how to test the product in detail.

ALl of your non-mq performance tests will apply no mnatter what version of MQ you are running.

If you have MQ performance tests, they should work just fine with newer versions of MQ.

Moderator,

I think this post belong in Genreal MQ or Performance.

Jeff,

I think you have a typo.

donbirno,

If this is actually a rebuild of your old Qmgrs and not an "in place" upgrade, then there are several security changes you must account for. It would be a bad idea to just turn off the new security features.

Consider increasing the LogFilePages (16384 if you have no idea) before you recreate the Qmgr (especially if the logs are Circular). For each Qmgr, separate the Qmgr data and log from everything else on their own file systems. Like:
/var/ibm/qmgrs/<QmgrName>
/var/ibm/log/<QmgrName>

That will make your Qmgrs isolated and "relocatable" (something that will become important later).
