Hi,
I am having a problem with the adding a QM to cluster. Here is the situation. I have two systems, Lets call them A and B.
A is on the domain and has the cluster QMACLSTR , with the repository qmgr QMA
I created a qmgr QMB in B. and then I try to add it to cluster QMACLSTR.
When I try to do this it is giving me authorization error AMQ4036.
Both A and B are on domain.
Here is the catch, When I use system C which is not on the domain but is on workgroup but still can talk to A through the network everything is working fine.
So I am guessing it is connected to domain issue. I have looked at some of the posting here and tried different things but with no success.
I guess I need some help

I am not sure when you got the error message. To add the QMB to cluster of QMA, you need to define clustr sender and cluster receiver channels at QMB. Have you done that? _________________ Thank you.

hey,
I guess I have solved the problem myself (ofcourse with help of mqseries.net)
I guess it is the problem with the domain. I created new group "domain mqm" in the domain followed by other steps in MQ helper file.
And I used the the post by syangloo
http://www.mqseries.net/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=10791&highlight=amq4036+domain
to check couple of things.
Now everythings works fine. Now I need to figure out what step exactly got rid of my problem. May be both or one of them. Hope this helps others who are referring to this in future.
this is only part of my problem, got to look into main stuff, I will be bak with more Qstns

Hey I am back.
I thought I solved the problem. In this configurations it is never finished. Everythign was fine with one user ID that was on the domain. But I am logging in as different user ID, I am getting same authorization error while joining the QM to the cluster. I am all confused.
Help is needed with urgency, I am at the dead end. |

hey,
It is working now. I am not sure what was the root cause. I reinstalled MQ on both machines and it is working. I am not entirely clear about what is happening.
And regarding your question when you say mqm group are you refering to A and B or the "domain mqm" that was created on the 2000 server.
I will give you breif description what I went through:
I created a group called "domain mqm" in the server and a user "user1" Then when I install the MQ it prompts you for the network configurations in the very first step when you insert the cd ( 1. software prerequisite 2. network config.. 3. install)
in the second choice it asks you if you are using win2000 server in the domain envi something like that. click yes and then continue with the installation.
After you install it it brings up the network wizard where you enter the user ID who has the authority i.e " user1" and the domain name and password.
once you are done it will allow to set up default configuration (unless you have this user id you will not be able to set up default config)
and then you repeat the same steps on other machine and they are good to go.
But it is not as clean as it looks. I had some strange problems. I am not sure if I was doing something wrong or ??
I am guessing it is something with the group authorities stuff on local machines (or who knows may be some thing to do with the domain) as you have asked.
And to your question if it is A and B you are refering the answer is yes. If you are refering to "domain mqm" i guess you can figure it out now from the above explanation.
I guess it is not brief huh
