Hi All,
We looking to migrate our Queue Manager from MQ v 7.5 to MQ v 8.0, There is an in house application which is written in perl connecting through mq client. I want to confirm if it will be compatible with MQ v8.0.
Thanks

What's wrong with confirming by testing the application against MQ V8.0 and finding out?
No-one without access to your application, environment, and test infrastructure can confirm compatibility. _________________ It's puzzling, I don't think I've ever seen anything quite like this before...and it's hard to soar like an eagle when you're surrounded by turkeys. |

I can't go on with testing because I need to provide an estimation of man days for upgrading the environment. and in case the perl module won't work they will back out and it will effect the estimate. |

Do an estimate for a POC with the perl module.
Do a second estimate for the work of migration after that. _________________ chmod -R ugo-wx / |

Circular argument - you need to know whether it will work before you can give an estimate, so you should be asking for a POC at least. If the POC fails, and the failure cannot be fixed, then there's no point upgrading the environment. Time spent in POC can save a lot more in upgrading, failing, and backing out. _________________ It's puzzling, I don't think I've ever seen anything quite like this before...and it's hard to soar like an eagle when you're surrounded by turkeys. |
