What is the use of any console? |
we already have different option for admin MQ like command, explorer. why we need MQ console |

I thought Explorer was depreciated in v9.

Ar... you guys meant deprecated yes?
Depreciation is a financial tearm in which you reduce the value of your assets over time...
Deprecation is when you notify API users that the operation that is deprecated may no longer be present in the next release. See wipikedia

I thought I'd seen somewhere that the stated direction was for Eclipse based tooling to be used for development (IIB Toolkit, ODM Workspace, etc.) and for administration to be performed instead via REST based tools like the console.
Clearly I'm wrong and the MQ console in v9 has been developed by accident. Probably be removed in v10....

Just because it's an eclipse based tool, doesn't mean it can't make REST calls...

I owe myself $5. As soon as I clicked submit, I thought to myself, "I bet I know someone who's going to be all over that...."
Allow me to rephrase my statement.
It was my understanding that administration of IBM products, as a general direction, was moving to lighter weight, web based, REST API exploiting tools. Heavier, Eclipse based tools were to be used for development platforms.

Sure you can look at them like that.
However depreciated does not necessarily mean deprecated...
You can use your assets for years to come, even if they are at 0 value in the books. If you depreciate a car in 5 years it doesn't mean that you have to throw it away. You could drive for another 5 years and still be on the good side.
You can say it starts deprecating once it gets difficult to find spare parts... or the maintenance + repairs cost is greater than depreciation and maintenance cost of a new model...

But in IBM's dictionary it often means "doesn't work with future versions - get used to the new tooling"

Hi all,
I recycle this question, instead of raising the same question, but I would like to put it into another point of view:
What is the benefit of the new web based explorer in terms of multiple Q-Managers on multiple systems?
Background:
We do administer multiple QM on several server using one classic MQ Explorer.
Up to now I did not find any chance to display a remote QM on the web based explorer.
Is it just not possible or do I miss something, and if so, what do I miss?
