when I do a dspmq on the MQ secondary Solaris box getting below error:
WebSphere MQ was unable to open a message catalog to display an error message
for message id hexadecimal %6, with inserts %1, %2, %3, %4, and %5.

Using a zone?
If so, the zone has not inherited the locale and language settings for the message catalog (e.g. a Whole Root zone).
If not, the locale and language settings for the message catalog are missing. _________________ Honesty is the best policy.

we are not using zone.
the amq.cat file is message catalog ? |

IIRC it is.
Where I've seen what you posted MQ is unable to determine the language and/or the locale to use for the message; this isn't set within MQ but are environment variables within Solaris. They're either not set, or not set within the shell MQ is running in. _________________ Honesty is the best policy.
