Has anybody been able to connect to a DB2 for i Database via ODBC, I've only been able to do it with JDBC but I'd like to use ODBC for the built in transaction support with Compute Nodes.
Thanks in advanced. |

Thanks for the quick response.
We've tried multiple times with that configuration with no success because we can´t find this driver "DRIVER=/opt/IBM/db2/V9.7/lib64/db2o.o". As to our understanding the db2 needs to be installed on the same server as IIB, which is not the case, since it is on the i System. It says "In Driver, add the full path of your DB2 installation."
That link applies to the configuration on Linux systems, we've tried on RHEL 6 and 7 with IIB 9. Now we're working on Windows with IIB 10, in this case, reading this link http://www.ibm.com/support/knowledgecenter/SSMKHH_10.0.0/com.ibm.etools.mft.doc/ah14442_.htm I only see the configuration for DB2 UDB and not DB2 for i. |

You need to install the full DB2 client on any machine that has IIB and you want to use ODBC to DB2.
Broker then uses the name of the configuration item in the DB2 client configuration - *exactly* - to find out the connection information it needs.
I don't know if the regular DB2 client works with I, but you should still have some kindf of DB2 client that should work the same way. _________________ chmod -R ugo-wx / |

Ok. As to what I understand then, I'll need to install client access, configure a DSN and try with that.
I'll test it and let you know. |
