Hi guys,
I'm now doing a proof of concept about Thai character. ESB had successfully send the message that shows Thai characters using ccsid 1208 to Mainframe. But it was failed to show the Thai character in ESB when the message is from the Mainframe. So basically, Mainframe used the 838.
From the Mainframe to ESB, thai characters shown "???" using 819 or ¡ÉÈäÖ using 1208. |

The mainframe should be sending the data properly in the same CCSID that the data actually is in. _________________ chmod -R ugo-wx / |

Every time you reinvent the wheel the more square it gets (anon). If in doubt think and investigate before you ask silly questions. |

Yes, mainframe properly used the 838 CCSID.
What are other CCSID that is compatible to 838? |

I agree. 819 and 871 are not compatible for 838. |

That's not what he said. He said that not all *viewers* - things that show you text - can handle Thai characters.
I don't know if there's a good conversion between 838 and 1200/1208/etc.
The mainframe should probably be sending in 1200/1208... _________________ chmod -R ugo-wx / |
