Hi,
Searched the net and mqseries.net but could not find any documentation that specifies the max length of the message that can be put using the MQExplorer Put test message option. |

Ridiculously small. This is just for test messages.
Use support pack IH03 (RFHUtil(c)) to put real messages.

I know it is small but any idea what size that is ? |

Thought I'd try it out. Gave up holding down a random letter key after a while and put a 2900 byte message. So not quite so ridiculously small as I'd have thought.

You might have needed to hold the key down a bit longer.
There doesn't seem to be any specfic limit set by Explorer, so it's down to the underlying SWT Text widget. Which on some platforms appears to be 2^31... Though on some it may be a lot less. And the amount visible may be different than the amount of text |

The answer is clearly to use MO71 where you can just type in the number of how long you want the message to be 
Either that or hire a trainee to keep their finger on the keyboard key.
