Check me folks.
Linux OEL6.7
MQ V8
If I understand correctly, I can set the Channels: stanza in qm.ini but I do not have an ability to query the queue manager for what it thinks these values are.
Is this correct? I do not have the ability to run MQExplorer directly on the Linux server.
Thanks,
Arthur |

You are correct that there is no way to interrogate the queue manager (on distributed) to ask it what values it is currently using for MaxChannels and MaxActiveChannels.
However, you know that the queue manager will pick up a new version of QM.ini upon restart, so compare the date/time of the last file change, with the start date/time of the queue manager (either from the AMQERR01.LOG file or from DISPLAY QMSTATUS) to determine whether it is using the current QM.ini file.
Of course, one thing to bear in mind is that this will not help with any typos in the QM.ini file!
Cheers

Here is an RFE for the distributed MQ queue manager to provide this functionality to be able to query what the qm.ini attributes have been set to -> https://www.ibm.com/developerworks/rfe/execute?use_case=viewRfe&CR_ID=42528
Anyone who is a distributed MQ administrator should vote for it. It is very frustrating that the product does not do this. This is one of the most basic administrative requirements that you can query/confirm any attribute that you have changed in the product. _________________ Working with MQ since 2010. |
