I have couple of message flows with message sets and I am planning to migrate them to IIB.
Do I have to create the DFDL?
Is that the mandatory or recommended ? Why?
If so, Is there any tool/process to transform the message set to DFDL.
Thanks in advance.. |

No

It's never mandatory. It is recommended if the advantages of DFDL are too good to ignore.

MRM and DFDL are completely different languages, and there is no reliable way to translate between the two for all possible types of model. Simple models could easily be auto-translated, but you would need to write your own code to perform the translation. Models that were generated by importing a COBOL copybook will easily migrate to DFDL, although some code changes may be required as well.
In other words, 'it depends'. But message sets are still supported, are not deprecated, and that's not likely to change. |
