Can somebody let me know what is the maximum number of characters one can give while creating Websphere Message broker name and Execution Group name. What is the maximum allowed limit on the objects? |

Larger than you should ever encounter in any realistic situation. _________________ Honesty is the best policy.

So, there is not definite limit on the execution group and broker name like we do have for MQ queue manager and queues? |

If there is a definite limit, it's in the documentation.
If you feel some burning desire to name either a broker or an EG significantly longer than about 40 characters, you should strongly reconsider that desire.
40 characters is longer than will reasonably fit in most displays and is longer than any given human wants to have to type on an mqsichangetrace command. |

I am restarting this topic . I understand that 40 characters are more than enough. However I just want to know what the documentation also says, but I was not able to find it in the WMB documentation. WMQ documentation clearly says the maximum length of the queue manager can be 48 characters. But I could not find that specific information on the WMB documentation.
If some one has the link please share the same. Thanks in advance.. |

Why does it matter? How long do you really want to make these names?
How much value does a longer name give over a shorter name? _________________ chmod -R ugo-wx / |
