The MQ8 documentation (info center) displays plenty of information about creating/classifying SRs (service requests), but doesn't show any information about how to invoke the Service Request Application. Can you help?

... I guess it's not clear to me which kind of service request/reply you're talking about.

The URL you have provided lists the details on raising service request(i.e. PMR) with IBM for any product issue. Is your query related to raising PMRs with IBM?

It seems much more likely that this question is about SOAP request/reply Services or REST services or other *application* Service Request concepts.

But which one is still not clear.

This is the documentation I'm talking about - apparently nothing to do with SOAP or Web Services.

That's the info center for a Maximo product. Not clear where MQ comes in at all.

thanks, I hadn't realized it was maximo. I googled MQ8 Service Request Application and found the URL - I guess I need to learn more about how to use Google - I should have realized this because searching in MQ8 Info Center nothing is returned by search for 'Service Request Application'
Sorry to bother you.

No worries.

What were you trying to find out about with MQ?

I am preparing to take the MQ8 Admin Certification exam. This test looks like a bear. I got hold of a practice exam and the subject of SRs came up in the example questions. My experience with problems which require IBM's help have always involved opening up PMRs. I've never heard of SRs before. Perhaps with MQ8 the maximo product should be used to open up an SR as the doc does say that a PMR can be opened up from the SR.

To open a PMR you create a service request. Maximo's use of the term is entirely unrelated...

Ivana, you can stop banging your head on this one. "Service Requests" in Maximo are completely unrelated to MQ, and unrelated to using the IBM Service Request tool to submit a PMR problem report.
