Can anybody direct me towards a thread or forum concerning known issues or problems with RabbitMQ (on the distributed side) exchanging messages with IBM MQ (on the mainframe side). OR, information about their own experience in this area?

A Google of --> RabbitMQ "IBM MQ" known issues problems <--
didn't generate many interesting search results.

Does it exchange messages with MQ?

I suppose you could use MQLight to do it, since I believe RabbitMQ uses AMQP.

Otherwise I'd look for specific forums/support topics on whatever component of RabbitMQ talks MQ.
