Hi All,

I am using MQ 5.3 on windows server 2003, I am not able to start Queue Manager getting below error while starting, no mq process was running, all were ended but still I see this error, anyone could suggest if there any any issue with this QM.

C:\Documents and Settings\EssVenkataP>strmqm QMA.ZZMI27P.22
AMQ8041: The queue manager cannot be restarted or deleted because processes
that were previously connected, are still running.
AMQ7018: The queue manager operation cannot be completed.

When I check previous error messages, it shows AMQ9208: Error on receive from host

So, you have an out-of-support MQ version running on an out-of-support OS? Good luck with that!

Identify the process that are stopping your queue manager from running, stop those processes, then restart your queue manager. You'll need to identify the Process ID the queue manager was running under and any child Process IDs that attach to it.

Most MQ process names begin with the letters amq. Some other are control commands, such as like runmqlsr, that are documented in the System administration manual. What tool are you using to look at running processes?

You might try a reboot of the o/s to see if that clears up your issue.

It's possible the process in question isn't an MQ one, but an application or exit that's still running. This is Windoze, reboot the machine and try the queue manager again.

I echo the comments of other on your (very) out of date & unsupported MQ and your out of date & unsupported OS.

MQ 5.3 is way behind the current supported versions. You are missing out on many exciting features available in the new versions of MQ

Check for sempahores and see if you see anything with mqm id. Then you might want to clear them and try again.
