IBM never shipped SAVEQMGR with the product.
It's a supportPac. _________________ chmod -R ugo-wx / |

They never did ship it with MQ. The saveqmgr application is/was the MS03 support pac.
Also, the functionality got built into the base product as dmpmqcfg, as my most worthy associate points out (and is in a better position than most to know). See here _________________ Honesty is the best policy.

we are currently using SAVEQMGR to take the backup of qmgr everyday.

Why? How often does your queue manager change it's configuration? Why can't you rebuild a failed queue manager from the build scripts and/or the change control?

You can. It will still work (as per that tech note).

Well sooner or later IBM's going to give up supporting the support pac. I notice they don't mention MQv8 as supported for it. _________________ Honesty is the best policy.

"The IBMer". Not "IBM" (not me, btw).
It should run just fine with v8, but it won't capture any v8 object syntax.
dmpmqcfg will, of course. _________________ chmod -R ugo-wx / |

I have a PMR open on dmpmqcfg at present, and I've seen a few APARs on it - so it's not 100% there yet. _________________ Well, I don't think there is any question about it. My bad. Thought it was a Cat 3. If it was, it isn't any more of course.

And is the road forward. _________________ Honesty is the best policy.
