We have installed IIB V9002 Toolkit on our WINXP PC with no admin right.
I am able to connect to the IIB V9 on Linux with no problem. I can also develop simple message flows. I have not tried to deploy anything yet. In our company getting temp admin right on PCs normally takes weeks. So i may not be able to run the postInstall_admin.bat until a few weeks later.
I am just wondering what I am missing before I can run the postInstall_admin.bat ? More importantly will any of my development work being affected ? |

WinXP? I'd have thought you'd have bigger concerns than the IIB Toolkit (which incidentally isn't supported on that platform).

The command to create a local broker requires admin access, so you'll be stuck using the Linux version. This affects your development work in the same way using any non-local, potentially shared resource would. _________________ Honesty is the best policy.

Thanks Vitor, WIN7 64 bit is on it's way. I am in the line together with a few hundred other corporate users. Meanwhile IIB V9 is live this week and target for production in Oct. I need to have the toolkit to do my tasks for the time being.
So if I am just using the toolkit to develop. But deploy and test remotely on my IIB V9 server on linux. I should be fine. IIB V9 server will not be installed on WINXP. So I'll not be creating a local broker. |

Unless the Toolkit goes "what is this ancient OS?" as you try and use some of the less basic features and goes down in flames.
I doubt Eclipse is very happy in that environment even with basic features.
In your position (i.e. very aggressive deadlines), I'd put the Toolkit on Linux, be assured of the stability of the product and even have a local broker for my use.
You can migrate back to Win7 when it's available. _________________ Honesty is the best policy.
