| Are there any resources that can provide some information on the pros and cons of running IBM MQ and ActiveMQ on the same server? Any direction is much appreciated. Thanks, |

Can you provide some information on why you'd ever want or need to?
By extension, why do you need both products? What's the use case?

Why do you think the pros and cons of this are any different than the pros and cons of any other two pieces of software on the same machine?
At least, what kinds of concerns do you have - what things do you suspect or worry might confict? |

one point :- Running the Business will be expensive with Active MQ
--> Understand who is going to be the Active MQ vendor

The question to ask is not what the messaging software costs, but what is the value of the business you are entrusting to it?
Also can you call up the vendor in the middle of the night if you can't restart the queue manager after a system crash?

It is not just the vendor that matters. It is also the customer.
We cannot just open a PMR and call IBM and give me express service during the middle of a night because the only Queue Manager I have can't restart.
But definitely agree that MQ support is definitely way way better than others.
Ofcourse incase of ActiveMQ, I don't even know whom to call. In case of WMQ, atleast I know whom to call |

I've done exactly that.
Opened an IBM sev 1 PMR in the middle of the night.
Was able to get the production QM back up in time for the next day's service.

Yes you can. You absolutely can. And you can insist that, despite the fact it's the middle of the night, the queue manager has to be up by dawn. There's even a check box on the web page where you raise PMRs marked "System is down" for your convenience.

If you don't have that, why waste money on a license? Or bother with staying up to date? Or even worry about the system being down....?

for Active MQ you have to get a Vendor who supports it
Redhat is one of the Vendor (took it from FuseSource way back)
