This problem is solved by either applying Operating System (Linux) patches, resetting the date or rebooting the system. The resolution is dependent on your level of Linux and your environment. Please consult your Linux provider for details of the solution appropriate for your system. |

a) it's an OS problem so not mine (in this particular site)
b) you should be patched up to date anyway _________________ Honesty is the best policy.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Leap_second
"Since this system of correction was implemented in 1972, 26 such leap seconds have been inserted. The most recent one happened on June 30, 2012 at 23:59:60 UTC. A leap second will again be inserted at the end of June 30, 2015 at 23:59:60 UTC."
Did anyone notice any impact to MQ last time this happened? _________________ Glenn |

This is the blurb from the IBM support doc from what happened to MQ the last time a leap second was added to Linux in 2012.
Quote: |
Previously, on 30 June, 2012 a leap second was added. Due to this, it was subsequently observed that a WebSphere MQ queue manager, running on Linux OS, generated many FDC files related to resource issues or constraints; these FDCs were commonly reporting rc=xecP_E_NO_RESOURCE.
You may also see your queue manager hang or freeze or there may be high cpu. The FDCs are being generated on a daily basis and may have probes of XY348010 or XC272003 from xcsCreateThread but there could be other FDCs with different probes also.
|
I hope everyone enjoys their extra second on June 30, 2015! _________________ Working with MQ since 2010. |

Not when creating the code is more expensive than what the overtime is worth... _________________ MQ & Broker admin |

Headline: Because Earth is slowing down, we will synchronize our clocks by adding a leap second just before we enter 2017.
Watch as global warming/climate change is determined by scientists to be the cause of earth's slowing.

The Earth's population does keep going up. Maybe it's all the extra people weight. I know I'm not helping with what all I've been eating for the holidays . . . _________________ Working with MQ since 2010. |
