Hi Team,

Please help me to understand the below MQ issue.

One of our application moved to new Windows server and migrated to MQ client 7.5. our QMGR is running on MQ 7.0.1.

Now when they connected after the client migration they got mqrc 2063 (security error). We noticed application user id trying to access SYSTEM.PROTECTION.POLICY.QUEUE queue and getting 2035. we provided the access to taht queue and application able to connect and process fine now.

- We informed application team that MQ Client 7.5 enabled with new security feature AMS and its trying to browse the SYSTEM.PROTECTION.POLICY.QUEUE. Giving access to this queue resolved the issue.

But application team came up with below and asking further RCA..

- Application which they are getting the error not uses MQ client and it uses C# amqmdnet (Websphere MQ classes for .NET 1.0.0.3).
- How can their application can impacted with the new MQ version if they dont use it.

Please suggest, how to deal with it. I am still in a impression that for all the MQ client connections and dlls MQ Client installation is MUST.

Thanks and Regards
MQMITH

It may be because of AMS. How can you know whether there is a policy attached to the queue you want to access if you cannot browse the policy queue?
