Hi,
Currently the FDC files are generating with the probe id -PC024010 in the IBM MQ version 6.2 in Linux server, which is causing the /var/mqm to get full.
Searched for the Probe id in the IBM website and learnt that it can be because of " When queues are deleted while a PCF inquireQueueNames command is executing, FDC will be generated. When the number of queues is very big then the enquire queue names command takes longer to process and the chances of queue being deleted in this time frame increases.
However, there are no queues deleted during that time upon investigating. |

Even if you mean WMQv6.0.2 then that's way, way out of support.

If you're running on a version of WMQ so ancient it doesn't have the fix pack 4 for MQ then you deserve all you're getting. Note the post with that quote was written 7 years ago. It's as likely to be some OS patch interfering with the MQ software as an MQ issue.

Update to at least the last fix pack of that version. Then consider upgrading to a version of MQ where you can actually get support from IBM & has been tested on modern Linux. _________________ Honesty is the best policy.

Hi Vitor,
Thx 4 ur reply. However upgrading to the latest version is not possible for the application team at the moment. Hence request a work around for the same. |

They've been flat out busy for the last 7 years? What, exactly, would change from an application persective if they upgraded the underlying MQ layer?

Find whatever change has been made recently to the underlying OS or hardware and reverse it. _________________ Honesty is the best policy.

Aside from the Probe ID what does the major and minor error codes say?
What application is causing MQ to throw an FDC?
What does the MQ and qmgr error logs show when the FDCs are thrown?
What will the application team do if you tell them that you can't fix the problem because IBM won't support your version? |

Go to google. Search for 'probe id PC024010'.
Read the item Fix list for WebSphere MQ V6. It seems that there are a variety of problems that can raise that probe id. _________________ I like deadlines. I like to wave as they pass by.
