1) Install on RHEL using the instructions in the MQ InfoCenter
2) Configure the MQ processes as a service in the VCS cluster as described in the VCS documentation. IIRC there's a sample supplied with VCS for MQ as there is for app servers and databases.

1) the pre-requisites are those described in the VCS documentation; the right kind of shared disc for example.
2) All of these objects are described in the MQ InfoCenter. There's no difference in setting these up on RHEL to setting these up on other distributed platforms (like Windows)

You'll find valuable additional information in the other post you raised on this subject here.

So you searched a lot in the infocenter and nothing that came up when you used "installing on Linux" seemed "correct"? Likewise you found nothing when you browsed the section marked "Installing" seemed "correct"? I'm unlikely to tell you anything more "correct" than that.

Likewise with the "setting up" part of your question - what you're asking is effectively "how do I set up and use MQ?". It's a question too broad to be answered, and information on how to do it is most of the InfoCenter.

I understand from your previous post you're new to MQ, but you're not going to get the help you need from this forum, and certainly not with questions this broad.

Go back to whoever said:

Get WMQ on RHEL using VCS for HA, then set it up so the apps can use it, and tell me when you're done

that you're going to need some support, mentoring and training if you're going to do this in a timely fashion. This task is not as simple as going to a single url and following the instructions.

Since this is "new", I would assume you are installing IBM MQ V8 (and apply fix 1) the normal way on both machines. If I were you, I would install all the components I'm licensed to install (yes, MQ Client too).

Do whatever VCS tells you to do to setup the VIP and shared disks for MQ data and logs.

Then follow the HA procedures.

Sorry for being rude. If you even can not find an url in Google, as a professional, how would you complete the task?

Anyway, let me give my 2 cents

From what you said, it seems that you are planing to set up MQ HA using VCS. If so, you need to understand:

How does MQ work ( In fact need to have at least intermediate skill)
How does MQ MI work ?
what does HA mean in MQ?
Setup VCS cluster ( requires good Linux skills, Linux clustering and then VCS)

I am wondering whether you can perform all of these just following documents and asking questions here. Also please remember, the forum members do not answer what is it question but if you stuck while doing something, they will help/guide you the right direction or trouble shoot the issue.

I would suggest, based on your question, try another route - MQ MI. Here is an url for a very good DeveloperWorks article.

http://www.ibm.com/developerworks/websphere/library/techarticles/1006_sampige/1006_sampige.html

Good luck
J
