Hi
The plan is to migrate OS from AIX 6.1 to Linux (highest recommended version).
Current Details of
Message Broker :- V7.0.0.4
MQ :- V7.0.1.2
Kindly provide any pointers or FAQ's which should be taken into consideration before planning to migrate OS to Linux. |

broker itself has to be installed on linux , you have to get linux compatible binary for broker.

Read IBM documentation.
Prepare Linux to meet MQ requirements (mqconfig.sh etc).
Prepare Linux to meet WMB/IIB requirements.
Install MQ (not version 7.0.1.xxx as it will be out of support in 8 months time).
Install broker software (not WMB version 7 as it will be out of support in 8 months time).
Apply latest fixpacks to MQ and broker software.
Create QM. Create broker. Enable all fixpack function in the broker.
Recreate all your configuration/customisation of the broker and queue manager etc (this can be a big task).
Redeploy existing bar files.
Test absolutely everything.
Migrating message flow development is another matter - may require some re-work to function with later toolkit levels.

Thanks for the pointers.
Just need to understand also if someone has done such migration and came across with any code issues or code change in message flows while deploying the existing bar files (BAR Files working on AIX OS) . |

Are you asking about OS issues or IBM product version change issues?

The bar files are not OS specific, so I don't see why it would.
However if you have used anything non-standard like Java code, or plug-in nodes, you need to review those.
