Hi All,
How can we implement Password Digest /Authorization using SOAP nodes in MB 6.1. If you can share the details.
Thanks. |

What makes you think WMBv6.1 supports Password Digest?
What makes you think WMBv6.1 is a version of WMB you should be using for anything, given how long it's been out of support? _________________ Honesty is the best policy.

Hello Vitor,
I am new to web service implementation in MB, so was trying the option of Authorization and Password digest and about the version, currently I don't have any option other then working on 6.1.
Exploring the Authorization and Password digest so that we can plan to migrate to IIB 9. Currently we are not doing this in MB in our workplace.
Thanks. |

"Password Digest" is a very imprecise term.
If you are trying to evaluate features in order to determine if you should move to IIB v9, then you should be evaluating IIB v9.
But, as mentioned, v6.1 is completely out of support. So you should really be evaluating "Should we migrate to a supported platform, or should we rewrite what we have in something entirely different that is also a supported platform".
That is, the only decision you should be making is "do we keep using Broker or move to something else", not "should we move to a supported version of Broker".
Your business should always run on Supported Software. |

You can almost certainly get whatever you want working in v6.1 if you write enough custom ESQL / user exits / Java, including the various web service functions you want to use.
This will tell you nothing about how (or if) those features are implemented in the IIBv9 base product, and you'll almost certainly not want to use any of this custom code in v9 so the effort is wasted.
As my most worthy associate points out, you shouldn't be evaluating if you should move to IIBv9. You should be evaluating if you should move to IIBv9 or move to something non-IBM, while lamenting that you've left it this long past WMBv6.1's end of life to move. This "planning" should have been performed years ago. _________________ Honesty is the best policy.

Thanks for ur replies...
I will try n get IIB 9 installed for my POC. As of now we are deciding between IIB9 and one of the open source tool.
Also, it would be good if someone can share some links to read abt implementing Web service using WSDL/SOAP nodes.
Also, can we do Authorization in MB 6.1 SOAP input node?
Thanks in Advance.. |

If you have the budget, nothing I have seen comes close to IIB 9. It is rock solid, and a brilliant piece of engineering. Combine this with Decision services and worklight you have a full stack
Yeah, The documentation is tough to deal with at times, but then there is the message trace, and mqseries.net when you need help! _________________ Regards |
