Hello Experts ,

We are using MQ7.5.0.2 , WMB v8.0.0.3 with OperatingSystem as Linux .

We have a message flow which has MQ as InputNode and SAPRequest node to communicate with SAP System . Everything is working fine . But we see some of the transactions are taking high processing time with in broker .

As broker Processing time is combination of this Actual broker processing time (for transformations ) and SAP Processing time (Considering BAPI call ) we are not sure where is this over head Is.

We want to go for increasing number of Instances for this MessageFlow but I am not sure on below to proceed with this

--> If I increase this MessageFlow Instances to 3 then I will actual have 4 copies available , In this case will I have 4 instances of SAPRequestNode instances to SAP interactions as well ?? Please confirm

--> I have seen a property in SAPAdapter related configurable services call numberOfListener , As per IBM Documentation we can use this property for increasing adapter property . Do we need to consider anything else along with this property ? . Say if I am increasing messageFlow instances to 3 should I have dependency on this MessageFlow Instances and this numberOfListeners as with this number of instances increase I am actually allowing flow to consume more requests .

--> Also let me know this SAPRequest node has any default/limit in number of connections to SAP ? .

Many thanks in advance ...!

Increasing the number of additional instances - either of the flow or of the SAP side - only means that you can process more inputs in parallel.

It does nothing to speed up the time it takes a single input to be processed.

You should do some basic performance monitoring of the flow - take stats and a usertrace - and find out which node in the flow is taking the most time.

That, at a first pass, will tell you where the problem is - in Broker or in SAP.

Thanks for your reply mqjeff .

I am in progress of checking this in Perf environment .

Any comments on this numberOfListeners property of this SAP Outadapter ?
will this add any value for SAP interactions incase if requests are queued at this node SAPRequestnode by increasing this value ?

Thanks in advance ...!
