Hello Friends,
I am new to this group, I am facing an issue with MQ 8.0 installed on my local windows. There is a java application which is running on another colleagues laptop and he is trying to push messages to my queue. Every time he pushes his message from my queue my queue manager gets an error:
AMQ9245: Unable to obtain account details for channel MCA user ID
We are on the same network and ping and telnet on 1414 is working perfectly , I was trying to create an active directory but that is a windows server OS feature and cannot be done on a PC. Please suggest how can I resolve the authentication issue I did do setmqaut for the user but the user is not found.. please help...thanks |

Well this explains the error.....!
What user id is running your MQ processes on your local Windows? Is it a domain user and if so, why? Is this the user that the MCA is trying to use? Have you followed all the steps to configure MQ to run within a Windows domain as laid out in the documentation?
Basically what's your install & security model, and why did you pick that coonfiguration?
Better information, better advice. _________________ Honesty is the best policy.

Thanks for your reply was able to fix the issue..created a user with same computer name of the remote pc running the app...on my local system where I had the mq installation...key learning here is that the queue manager recognizes the local user and not the remote user running the application....added the local user to the mqm group and boom the message went into my queue from a java application running on another laptop on the network... |

Don't do this, don't ever do this. Set the appropriate authorities and allow the user access to only the objects it needs. You're starting from scratch so you have a great learning opportunity to do this right - read the security Redbook for more detail. _________________ It's puzzling, I don't think I've ever seen anything quite like this before...and it's hard to soar like an eagle when you're surrounded by turkeys. |
