Hi,
Can I set up two queue managers with same name, running on
two different machines within the same network?
I am trying to setup a fallback server for our application which has
the exact same configuration as the primary.
Thanks in advance,
Balaji. |

You can - this is no problem as long as they are on different machines with different IP addresses. I do not know what happens if you try to add both with the same name to a cluster, but as far as I understood you do not want to use clustering.

The other thing to bear in mind is using remote queue definitions. If you have 2 qmgrs with the same name, you have to work your way out using qmgr aliasing and stuff like that rather than using the easier version of DEFINE QREMOTE, which would not work as you would always get 2087. Because one of the considerations in qremotes is that you cannot have RQMNAME value to be the same as the host qmgr. Which is what would happen in your case.
Cheers
