Um, I just started getting familiar with this environment, (started a new job) and I discovered that on one of my Dev AIX4.3.3 Servers running MQSeries 5.3 with no CSD's install the AMQERRXX.LOG's are conspicuosly absent from the /var/mqm/error filesystem. Um,,,,,er
I have asked the guy who most recently provided MQ Support for these server who is now in another department, why this is the case and he has no clue.
My question is. "Is there a way to fix this without re-installing MQSeries?"
Could it be as easy as touching the files?
I have compared the /var/mqm/mqs.ini file with a like server that has it's AMQERR files and there is no difference that would account for this.
Any guidance offer will be appreciated. _________________ Yes, I am an agent of Satan but my duties are largely ceremonial. |

As far as i understand, even if the file isnt there, you can do your regular MQ stuff. When MQ needs to log anything to this file, it would create one if it doesnt find one. You can try it out quickly by forcing an FFST to occur or some error of some sort.

I'm not sure that I would force an error to occur. You should be able to shutdown and restart the qmgr and get the messages written that indicate the qmgr shutdown/started. |

Hi Smitha,
I am not sure if you are still facing this problem. In unix envirment some thimes this happens. It this occured there is a work around process for this .
create a temperary qmgr on the same box with the same lot pri and sec logs. Then copy those active lot files to this directory. It should work.(bcoz I did it and it worked for me )
Let me know if you r still facing this problem
