Message Flow Category is local to your workspace, so the configuration manager doesn't have any inforamtion about it.
I guess you are asking whether you can export a message flow and import it with a different name. I believe the answer to your question is No. However, you can copy a message flow within control cetner and then rename it. _________________ Kiran

thanks for the reply.
As u say if the flow categories are not stored in the CONFIGMGR how can it differentiate two flows of same name in different categories when we deploy.
I copied a flow and pasted it in a different catgry and changed it.i now have two flows with same names, both work fine. |

Even if the flow names are same, the UUID must be different. You can check this by renaming one of the message flow, the other message flow's name will not get changed in this case.

I think what happens here is when you paste a message flow, a new UUID is generated, but when you paste it into a different category, it doesn't find that name in the workspace and hence uses the same name for the newly pasted message flow. If you try to paste the message flow into same category then it will append _1 to the end of it. I don't know if you want to call it as a bug or a feature!
BTW, do you have any CSD installed on your control center box? _________________ Kiran

Assuming your guess is right , the configmgr storing the flows with diff UUIDs what happens when i want to add those 2 flows in a diff control center. How will the 2 flows appear in the dialog box where we select the flows to add.
I guess i can test it, but my brokers down right now. |

I guess they will appear with the same name one after another. You need to add both of them and see which one eactly you are looking for. I never do copy-paste in categories!

yes, the messages will appear next to each other with the same name. an interesting exercise, but not really to be recommended... _________________ scary |
