Does changing the MAXUMSGS setting on MQ Queue manager requires a restart of Q manager?
Few say it does not require any restart. Can anyone help as we dont have other test environments to verify this. |

Go with the assumption that it does... _________________ MQ & Broker admin |

You asked the same question here too. I have already replied on that forum to confirm that it is immediate and does not require a queue manager restart.
Cheers

Somehow, I doubt it affects existing transactions. But perhaps I'm wrong on that. |

I'd have thought it would be like maxqdepth, which does affect existing (in-flight) transactions. _________________ I like deadlines. I like to wave as they pass by.

When the queue manager starts a transaction it stores the current value of MAXUMSGS in the transaction header, so a change in this value doesn't affect inflight transactions.
