They didn't reinstall. They deleted the broker, rebuilt it and redeployed. You should always be prepared to do that, as a back out/restore plan.

Always have your original media and fixes you've installed in case you do need to reinstall to a given point.

I'd consider it a useful thing to determine *when* the error started appearing, and what *else* happened at that time.

You know, in case your Unix admins just decided to unmount some drives for fun.

True, but at the same time, If we still consider all possible actions which results these kind of errors, what could be the workaround from broker side to prevent this error?

You can't do anything from the broker side to prevent unexpected changes to the file system hosting the broker.

It's like asking your pants to prevent your shoes from stepping in a mud puddle.

You can either troubleshoot the problem to determine what caused it, and then take steps to prevent that specific thing from recurring.

Or you can ignore the cause and repair the system.
