I can't seem to find any documentation on the MQMD object for Java. Although I have seen use of this in Java, it would be nice to know how to use this, as I may need to develop some mechanism for message segmentation, and I understand that using the message descriptor is where I can tell MQ how to handle this.

Thanks.

I found the document. The link is just a list of the latest documentation available. However, look in the Application Programmers Guide for information about MQMD. Haven't tried to use this in my Java code yet, but will update if/when I do.

Look in the Java book.

There are methods for retrieving and setting all the fields in an MQMD.

Cheers,

Maybe you could explain, in that topic, why the answer that was provided wasn't sufficient.
