I heard there is a software version of datapower that can be installed on a local workstation. Is this true? I cant seem to find anything of this nature on search or the datapower product overview site.
Please help! |

I know (or think I know) DataPower can be bought as a virtual appliance.
Not sure if you could fit it on a desktop though. _________________ Honesty is the best policy.

Yes absolutely correct Vitor, IBM provides few virtual editions also
For Example :
WebSphere DataPower Integration Appliance XI52 Virtual Edition
WebSphere DataPower Service Gateway XG45 Virtual Edition _________________ Being in a crowd when you are alone is ignorance. Enlightenment is being alone in a crowd; a feeling of oneness in a crowd. |

Maybe IBM doesn't want a version of their high security appliance that can be "played around with" on a workstation......
IMHO the best way is to designate some of your DataPower appliances (real or virtual) as Development in the same way you designate some WAS or IIB kit as Development. _________________ Honesty is the best policy.

Also, what's to "play around with"? It's a very secure network appliance that does tricks with XSLT.
You want to "play" with XSLT there are easier ways. You want to play with networks, plug some wires into something.... _________________ Honesty is the best policy.

Maybe you should talk to your IBM sales representative. |

What I meant play around is to test capabilities get my hands dirty that sorta thing. I don't know about you guys. I learn more abt a product by breakng it. It maybe secure but would be nice to have a trial developer edition something of that nature that mimics the appliance capabilities on a workstation..run some POCs. |
