Guys
I have a server which is running MQ 7.0.1.11
I tried uninstalling 7.0.1.11 and tried installing 7.5.0.2 after that.
7.0.1.11 uninstallation was successful and 7.5.0.2 installation was successful.
After MQ upgradation, Iam able to bring back MQ Managers(same MQ Managers which were earlier running on 7.0.1.11) also succesful.
But I see lots of FDC files getting generated and errors on Queuemanager error log.
After investigation, I found that MQ resource adapters connecting to this server are running lower versions.MQ Probe id as per FDC file is "Probe Id :- RM680037 " and it says the cause as "Incompatible/outdated WebSphere MQ Resource Adapter".
In Queuemanager errorlog, Iam seeing errors "AMQ9504: A protocol error was detected for channel "xyz...."
Hence I thought of uninstalling 7.5 and reinstalling 7.0.1.11. Iam successful in uninstalling 7.5 and reinstalling 7.0, but not able to bring back the queuemanagers.Iam seeing error "AMQ5691: Queue manager 'xyz****' is associated with a different installation". I tried using the command "dltmqinst -n <installationname> -p <installationpath>", but the command was not successful.
I edited mqs.ini file and deleted the line which says "Installation Name". Even after that Iam unable to bring back the queuemanagers and this time it did not turn into running status , instead throwing different error as below,
WebSphere MQ queue manager 'abcxyz**' starting.
AMQ7047: An unexpected error was encountered by a command.
When checked the FDC file, it gave the Major Errorcode :- arcE_OBJECT_DAMAGED, Probe Id:- AO153001. One of the IBM recommended solution was "Clear the semaphores and try", I did that and still not able to bring back the queuemanager.
Altast, i deleted the MQ Manager and recreated it ,restored the mq objects from last saveqmgr backup.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I need your help in identifying where I went wrong?
Do i need to perform any important specific technical things when i do a 7.5 uninstallation? I might have missed following any such special instructions while performing MQ 7.5 uninstallation, can you guys let me know what has to be strictly followed and taken care whenever MQ 7.5 uninstallation is in place. |

Once you had 'migrated' the queue manager(s) to the later version there was no going back - the migration would have created additional objects etc. that the previous had absolutely no knowledge of, hence the error. The only way to have reverted would have been to back up the V7.0 installation file systems and restore it after the re-install of that version.
The information's all there in the V7.5 Info Centre on how to migrate (AIX example). _________________ It's puzzling, I don't think I've ever seen anything quite like this before...and it's hard to soar like an eagle when you're surrounded by turkeys. |
