is there any way to change the Log path after MQ is installed? I checked in MQ explorer, but the log path is "greyed" out. cannot edit.
thanks |

Interesting, I see this link provides info about how to do this for UNIX flavors as well. Note it says to copy the directories and not move them. That is because some of the directories should not move. Unfortunately, this leaves you with a messy configuration where old copies of the Qmgr's files are kept and may cause confusion later. Some unsuspecting new sap will go to where they think the Qmgr's error logs are only to find them not being updated.
The old HA sPac had a script to do this... Maybe a nice Hursely person will provide a new sPac with this script for UNIX. |

mqjeff,
Yep, that link explains how to create a new Qmgr on a non-default path for HA purposes (also works for non-HA). I don't see how it explains how to move an existing Qmgr from the default path to a non-default path (except the other link does for Windows).
Of course, the easy answer is to saveqmgr the object defs and auths and rebuild it but data gets lost or is a pain to unload and load. |

Shouldn't you be using/recommending the use of dmpmqcfg rather than saveqmgr these days? (well for V7.5 at least) _________________ WMQ User since 1999

Every time you reinvent the wheel the more square it gets (anon). If in doubt think and investigate before you ask silly questions. |

I would if it did the same thing _________________ It's puzzling, I don't think I've ever seen anything quite like this before...and it's hard to soar like an eagle when you're surrounded by turkeys. |

You can't trust the AUTHRECs it dumps and so you must use amqoamd -s -m <QmgrName> (which is not in the path any more). Other then that, sure. |

There's been some posts on the MQ list serve this week on the topic of dmpmqcfg. Hursley confirms they are treating the gaps as a defect and not something that is a feature request from the user community.

As promised the APAR that you need to watch for is IT00612.
My intention is that we will deliver the "2 line" output and that AUTHRECs support that is missing on MQ 7.5
