Hi,
I have three MQSeries servers sitting on three different machines.i need to form a cluster of Queue Managers belonging to all these servers. The basic requirement is that i want to make any queue on any Queue Manager a local one to the others. If i can guess, clustering is the best solution.if so, how is it done?is that it is enough to have cluster on one machine with all the QManagers as members?Else need i have to define clusters on each of the machines with all the QManagers as members?

Can any one suggest a solution for this.

Remember that i am new to this area pls...

regards,
crony

Remember that messages can only be got from a local queue. By clustering a particular local queue you simply make it available for other Queue Managers in the cluster to put to it.

You can have the same queue defined on each (or some) queue manager but the queue to which the message is put will depend on the bind option (fixed/notfixed) and your cluster workload routine.

Please do yourself a favor and get a copy of the MQSeries Queue Manager Clusters manual.

I am not trying to be sarcastic, but it this book will be a definite help the first few times you go thru this exercise.

Please take into account that closely following the sample tasks, in the order identified, will greatly reduce errors and problems later on.

Unlike distributed queuing environments, clustering does not take well to shortcuts or tricks.
